Len Goodman, the beloved judge of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ and ‘Strictly’, has passed away at the age of 78. His infectious personality and expert critiques will be deeply missed by fans around the world. Rest in peace, Len.

Breaking news from London! Len Goodman, the beloved head judge of “Strictly Come Dancing” and “Dancing with the Stars” has passed away at the age of 78. Goodman was a professional ballroom dancer and a British champion before retiring and opening his own dance school. He brought his expertise and charm to the judging panel of “Strictly” from its launch in 2004 until 2016, and on its U.S. counterpart for most of the period from 2005 until 2022.

Goodman was known for his warm, supportive, and critical approach to judging, adding a down-to-earth touch to the otherwise frequently flamboyant panel of judges. BBC Director-General Tim Davie said, “Len … appealed to all ages and felt like a member of everyone’s family. Len was at the very heart of Strictly’s success. He will be hugely missed by the public and his many friends and family.”

Goodman’s legacy extends beyond his contributions to the world of dance. He was a genuinely nice person who prioritized making ballroom dancing “enjoyable and sociable” as a teacher. He hoped to be remembered for his kindness and positivity, saying, “there was more good than bad in him.”

Our thoughts are with Goodman’s family and friends during this difficult time.
