Dan Crenshaw Unloads On ‘Long-Time Grifter’ Lin Wood For Letting Rittenhouse ‘Rot In Jail’

Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) laid into Lin Wood, one of Kyle Rittenhouse’s former attorneys, over the Illinois teenager’s claim that Wood allowed him to spend nearly 90 days in jail while using the case to gain notoriety for himself.

Crenshaw joined Wednesday’s broadcast of “Fox & Friends” and addressed both the outcome of Rittenhouse’s trial and some of the details that came to light after his post-trial interview with Fox News host Tucker Carlson.

Rittenhouse laid into Assistant District Attorney Thomas Binger, telling Carlson that he believed the ADA had been motivated by a desire to “make a name for himself” and had been willing to send him to prison for life in order to achieve that goal.

“Assistant District Attorney Binger is a corrupt person who just wants to make a name for himself and not look at the facts. I used to be a fan of the prosecutors — not anymore. I believe there are still good prosecuting attorneys out there but he’s a prosecuting attorney that wants to make a name for himself and he’s supposed to speak the truth and nothing but the truth, but he decided he wanted to lie and try to put me in prison for the rest of my life for defending myself,” Rittenhouse said.

“I mean, that must be shocking for you as a kid to realize the system can destroy someone who they know doesn’t deserve to be destroyed just for political reasons,” Carlson replied.

“It’s sickening because this is a case that never, that shouldn’t, this is a case that has nothing to do with politics but politics were brought into it for people’s own agenda,” Rittenhouse concluded.

As the video clip wrapped up, “Fox & Friends” host Ainsley Earhardt turned to Crenshaw and asked, “After you hear that, “What are your thoughts?”

“He’s completely right. We all saw the clips of that prosecution and it was a clown show,” Crenshaw replied. “They made the most absurd arguments. At one point he said you lose your right to self-defense once you bring a gun which of course is not true. That’s not how self-defense works especially when somebody else instigated the attack on you and there was clearly a riot and burning of buildings going on but these are the things he said. He would question Kyle Rittenhouse and say why were you running, why were you in such a hurry and Kyle would say well because there was a fire, you know? They tried to paint this picture of what was on the ground which is just completely untrue and thank God Kyle is out, I feel bad for him.”

Crenshaw then pivoted to address former Rittenhouse attorney Lin Wood, who Rittenhouse said left him in jail for nearly three months while he raised money for his own agenda under the guise of preparing a defense.

“You know, let’s not forget also another corrupt lawyer, Lin Wood. Lin Wood, who is a long time grifter, let Kyle Rittenhouse rot in jail for almost three months before getting him out. Why? So he could continue to make money and make a name for himself,” Crenshaw said. “So it is really deeply unfortunate all this happened to Kyle and I’m glad he’s out.”

Rittenhouse told Carlson that he had spent 87 days in jail because of Wood and another attorney, John Pierce.

He alleged that between them, the two could have gotten him bailed out but instead allowed him to remain in jail so that they could continue to “raise money so they can take it for their own benefit. Not trying to set me free.”
