Conservative commentator Dan Bongino was left reeling after hearing the news that Fox News had parted ways with top-rated host Tucker Carlson. Bongino, who himself recently split with Fox News, was broadcasting his podcast, “The Dan Bongino Show,” live on Monday when he received multiple text messages about Carlson’s departure. “I’m stunned. I don’t even know what to say right now,” he said, admitting that he had “actual goosebumps” after learning the news. The move sent shockwaves through the media sphere, with Fox News announcing that the network and Carlson had “agreed to part ways,” and the host’s last show was Friday. Carlson had told viewers he would be back on Monday, but as of press time, he has yet to comment on his situation. Sources told The Los Angeles Times that the decision to fire Carlson and his producer Justin Wells came from Fox Corp. Chairman Rupert Murdoch and that the exit is related to a discrimination lawsuit filed by former network producer Abby Grossberg. Carlson’s departure comes just days after Bongino announced his exit from the network.
