Damar Hamlin’s Family Releases Statement Following Cardiac Arrest During Game

Damar Hamlin’s family released a statement on Tuesday after the Buffalo Bills’ safety suffered a cardiac arrest when he collapsed during the first quarter of a game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday night.

We also want to thank Coach Taylor and the Bengals for everything they’ve done.”

During Monday night’s game, Hamlin collapsed on the field after tackling Bengals wideout Tee Higgins. Before Hamlin was taken to the hospital, emergency personnel performed CPR. The game was canceled.

The Bills’ organization released a statement that the safety suffered a “cardiac arrest.”

After a hit in our match against the Bengals, Damar Hamelin experienced cardiac arrest. His heartbeat was reestablished and he was taken to the UC Medical Center to receive further treatment and testing. He is currently in critical condition and is being sedated.
