Daily Show Has Meltdown Over Gutfeld Super Bowl Ad

The jealousy just oozed from the walls The Daily Show creator, Lizz Winstead, when SiriusXM host Dean Obeidallah brought up  the fact, albeit in a rather mocking way, that a new Super Bowl ad Features Fox News Greg Gutfeld, the new anchor “King of Late Night.” Winstead was not at all gracious about Gutfeld’s lead in late-night comedy ratings. Instead, he unleashed a torrent of very angry profanity.

DEAN OBEIDALLAH It’s not an exaggeration. Super Bowl Sunday will be all about him. Fox News runs “King of Late Night” Greg Gutfeld looked like a king, technically, he begins at 11 PM Eastern Time. It’s about half an hour earlier than that, but he beat Colbert and Fallon to the top in ratings. It doesn’t seem fair. I don’t know any comics. “I hope I get on Gutfeld!“

…Lizz, what have you done? The Daily Show. Greg Gutfeld’s bullshit is it considered late-night comedy?

Obedeillah may have mocked Gutfeld, however he was at least not mad. This is in stark contrast with the profanely bitter and obviously jealous Lizz Winstead.

LIZZY WINSTEAD Let’s face it, I say that he’s not funny to me, but we can see that there is an audience for shit like this. Joe Rogan isn’t the only one who has an audience. There are a lot of people who love to fucking shit. Trump was voted in by seventy million people, according to Fox News. These people will laugh at the shit we make up. You see, the bottom line is: Do I want them to be my audience?” No. No. I would not be benefited in any way by it. The only thing that would happen is I’d try my best to be on there. You would then get trolls all over your Twitter fields from now to eternity.

So, is he funny? I don’t find it funny. He makes jokes about the shit I care about. It is gross. But there is a market. There is a market. Do you know what else I consider gross? Golden Corral.
