Father arrested for allegedly aiding daughter in selling explicit photos online for large sums
A Shocking Case: Father Arrested for Assisting Teen Daughter in Selling Explicit Photos Online
In a disturbing turn of events, a father in California has been apprehended and charged with sex trafficking after allegedly aiding his own daughter in selling pornographic images of herself on the internet.
The arrest of Scott Davis took place on November 15th, following an investigation by the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office. The department, in a press release shared on Facebook, revealed that they had received information about a teenage girl who had reportedly earned around $40,000 by selling explicit photos of herself online.
The investigation began in August when the Sheriff’s office, in collaboration with the High Tech Crimes Unit, started looking into the case of a 16-year-old girl involved in the online sale of nude photographs. The teenager had gained significant popularity on various social media platforms.
During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that the girl had received assistance from an unexpected source, further highlighting the alarming issue of sex trafficking in the United States.
“Detectives also discovered that the female’s father, Scott Davis, was aware of the online activity and was complicit in the profit,”
The extent of Davis’ involvement in his daughter’s sale of explicit images remains undisclosed.
Following the execution of a search warrant at Davis’ residence, he was arrested and charged with several offenses, including sex trafficking, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and child abuse.
According to the Mountain Democrat, Davis also faces charges of procuring a minor under 16 for a sex act, pimping for prostitution, and using a minor to create obscene material for commercial purposes.
While the sheriff’s department has not yet pressed charges against the teenage girl, Davis is currently being held on a staggering $4 million bail.
Julie Bornhoeft, a representative from an organization that supports victims of sexual assault, expressed her shock at the involvement of a parent in this case.
“This is someone dependent on a parent. We will see cases where they’re carrying two phones — one for the teens and one for the trafficker to contact them.”
The investigation is ongoing, and the Sheriff’s department has urged anyone with information to reach out to Detective Chris Macres at [email protected] or (530) 957-5227 (texting available).

How can parents be more actively involved in their children’s online activities to prevent instances of child exploitation and sex trafficking?
Rse of the investigation, it was discovered that the girl’s father, Scott Davis, had not only known about his daughter’s activities but had also actively assisted her in the process. He was allegedly responsible for setting up accounts on several websites and managing the financial transactions related to the sale of explicit images.
The arrest of the father has shocked the local community and sparked a nationwide debate on the prevalence of sexual exploitation and trafficking. Law enforcement agencies and child protection organizations have been working tirelessly to put an end to such criminal activities, which often involve vulnerable individuals being coerced or manipulated into participating.
This case serves as a stark reminder that even those closest to us may be involved in illegal and harmful activities. The fact that a parent would assist their own child in engaging in such explicit and exploitative behavior is deeply troubling.
Child exploitation and sex trafficking are serious crimes that not only harm the victims involved but also have long-lasting impacts on their mental, emotional, and physical well-being. It is crucial for society as a whole to remain vigilant and work together to prevent, detect, and report any instances of abuse and exploitation.
In response to this case, the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office has urged parents and guardians to be actively involved in their children’s online activities, monitor their social media accounts, and educate them about the potential dangers and consequences of engaging in risky behaviors online.
Additionally, this case highlights the need for stronger legislation and law enforcement measures to combat the online sale of explicit content involving minors. As technology continues to advance, it becomes easier for individuals to exploit vulnerable children and profit from their exploitation. It is imperative for legislators and policymakers to stay ahead of these evolving tactics and ensure that appropriate measures are in place to protect minors from such exploitation.
The arrest of Scott Davis serves as a wake-up call for all of us. We must actively engage in the fight against child exploitation and sex trafficking, both in our communities and online. We need to be vigilant, report any suspicious activities, and support organizations that work tirelessly to rescue and rehabilitate victims.
It is our collective responsibility to create a safe environment for children, free from exploitation and abuse. Let us ensure that cases like this one become rare occurrences, rather than the disturbing reality they currently are.
