Cruz Blasts Buttigieg Over Debacle: ‘What In The Hell Does Pete Buttigieg Have To Do To Get Fired?’

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) slammed Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg During the most recent episode “Verdict” This week, the Ohio governor was asked about his handling of a train accident that occurred in East Palestine.

Cruz’s remarks were made as Buttigieg visited the town weeks after a train was derailed and a large quantity of toxic chemicals were spilled. This triggered fears about possible health consequences for the nearby community.

“Look, it is ridiculous that Joe Biden has not been to East Palestine yet,” Cruz said. “You literally have an American city with a major derailment that was on fire, where the water is being poisoned, where the air is being poisoned, where it’s ongoing for multiple days, and this administration does not give a damn.”

Cruz stated that the Biden administration doesn’t care about the community, as it voted for Donald Trump overwhelmingly.

“And it’s clear their attitude. Look, it’s all politics all the time. It’s all communications and PR all the time,” He stated. “And so going there is a bad message. And it really is striking.”

Cruz then focused his attention on Buttigieg who has been subject to intense criticism for his inept response to multiple crises falling under his control.

“What in the hell does Pete Buttigieg have to do to get fired?” Cruz said. “Like in the history of this country, has there ever been a transportation secretary who has screwed more things up? From in his first year in office, a supply chain crisis that impacted the entire country that made it hard to get basics and essentials?”

SEN. Ted Cruz (R-TX),: It is absurd that Joe Biden hasn’t been to East Palestine yet. There is literally an American city on fire, with major derailments, where water is being poisoned and air is being poisoned. And this administration doesn’t give a damn. Why? Because this part of the state voted 70% in favor of Donald Trump. It’s obvious their attitude. It’s all politics every day. It’s all communication and PR every day. It’s all communications and PR. It is quite striking. Donald Trump had publicly stated that he would go to East Palestine. The Biden administration quickly responded, “Ooh, we’ll go too now yeah.” … And let me ask you a question. What the hell is Pete Buttigieg to do to be fired? Is there any transportation secretary in American history who has done more to screw things up than Pete Buttigieg? In his first year of office, there was a supply chain crisis which impacted the whole country and made it difficult to obtain basic necessities.
