‘Crazy Old Racist’: Joy Reid Slammed For ‘White Male Tears’ Rant About Rittenhouse, Kavanaugh

MSNBC host Joy Reid on Tuesday leveled a rant against white people and their “tears,” complaining about Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh and teenager Kyle Rittenhouse.

Essentially, the commentary, which she posted in a video to TikTok, claims white people, men and women, have power through their “tears” by virtue of being white, and therefore they “bring the waterworks” to benefit themselves when necessary. Unsurprisingly, the MSNBC host was slammed as an outright racist for the video.

Reid started the commentary by claiming that the Rittenhouse trial “reminded people” of the hearings for Kavanaugh. The 52-year-old Reid claimed Kavanaugh “cried his way” through the hearings to be confirmed to the bench. “And his tears turned out to be more powerful than the tears of Christine Blasey Ford,” she said.

Soon after Kavanaugh was nominated to the bench in 2019, Blasey Ford came forward to accuse the judge of decades-old sexual misconduct, though she did not have any corroboration and could not specify the place or date, claiming it happened sometime in the early 1980s. The Senate Judiciary Committee ultimately found there was “no evidence to substantiate any of the claims.”

“There’s a thing about white vigilantism and male white tears — really, white tears, in general,” Reid said, unknowingly undercutting her argument about Kavanaugh.

“Because, that’s what ‘Karens’ are, right?” she continued, referring to a derogatory term for white women. “They ‘Karen out’ and bring the waterworks.”

“White men can get away with that, too,” the host said, “and it has the same effect, even as the Right tries to politicize the idea that masculinity is being robbed from American men by multiculturalism and Wokeism — they still want to be able to have their tears.”

Columnist Miranda Devine blasted Reid and the media more generally, “They try to make the Rittenhouse case about race but it’s about class. Wealthy elitists like Joy Reid and Joe Scarborough and Joe Biden punch down at the white working class son of a single mother because they don’t see him as fully human and it makes them feel good.”
