CPAC 2023: GOP base embraces Trump’s ‘aggressive’ confab speech, but some want DeSantis
OXON HILL, Maryland — Former President Donald Trump‘s CPAC The address was doubled and used as a rallying call for his supporters. Most of the self-selecting crowd fled the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center, ready to remake America.
Trump’s escalated attacks against the establishment Republicans didn’t convince everyone before the 2024 Presidential Primaries.

Trump’s CPAC speech “felt like 2016 energy,” Ryan Sanchez is a University of California Irvine student.
“Me and my friends, we’re, we’re feeling fired up,” He told them. Washington Examiner. “He’s definitely coming off more aggressive. He’s calling out the traitors in our midst and [I’m] very happy to see Trump, hopefully, bringing back that energy from 2016 that made us fall in love with him in the first place.”
Sanchez did not malign Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), for not attending CPAC. However, he said that he was better placed to run for President. “after Trump’s done.”
Louise Baker of Baltimore, Maryland said that Trump’s statements were unacceptable to her husband, who is a DeSantis Supporter. “amazing” And “perfect.”
Alex Blagojevic (a Serbian/French immigrant living now in Florida) had hoped for more information about the economy. That is why he plans to back Trump this cycle.
“President Trump was the first president not to bring a new war since [former President Jimmy] Carter in 40 years,” He concluded. “Whether you like his style or not, I like what he was doing internationally too.”
Trump made stark comparisons in his 103 minute speech to the establishment Republicans. “ruled by freaks, neocons, open border zealots, and fools.”
“We’re never going back to the party of Paul Ryan, Karl Rove, and Jeb Bush,” He said. “People are tired of Rinos and globalists. They want to see America First. This is the final battle. Everyone knows it.”
He voiced frustrations and called his critics’ “he” as well. “enemies” “lunatics and maniacs” He promises, however. “alone will never retreat.”
“In 2016, I declared: I am your voice,” He said. “Today, I add: I am your warrior. I am your justice. And for those who have been wronged and betrayed: I am your retribution.”
Charles Hibbs (61), wore a MAGA cap with Trump buttons and a baseball jersey featuring Americana themes. He encouraged Trump to remain positive and not criticize his Republican rivals.
Yes, @CPACDonald Trump is the dominant figure in this, as well as the GOP overall. While it is difficult to be there and take a stand, but you won’t win if you don’t. Thanks to Nikki and Pompeo for being there.
