On Thursday, Jimmie Allen, a 37-year-old country music star, issued a public apology to his estranged wife, Alexis Gale, for having an affair. The couple shares two children, Naomi and Zara, and Gale is currently pregnant with their third child. Allen also has an 8-year-old son from a previous relationship.

Allen shared his statement on Instagram, saying, “I want to publicly apologize to my wife Alexis for humiliating her with my affair. I’m embarrassed that my choices have brought shame on her. That’s something that she did not deserve at all.”

The “Make Me Want To” singer also apologized to his children, saying, “I’m working on becoming a better person that my kids can be proud of. My goal is to be better than the generation before me.”

Allen acknowledged the temptations that come with the music industry, saying, “This business takes so much from you. It’s full of temptations that can cripple you and ruin everything you’ve built.” He encouraged others to seek help when they need it and not be afraid of their weaknesses.

Recent Controversy

This statement comes just one week after Allen’s former manager accused him of sexually abusing her for a year. Allen denied these allegations, saying their relationship was consensual.

The lawsuit, filed in Tennessee on May 11, alleges that Allen “manipulated and used his power over Plaintiff’s job to sexually harass and abuse her.” The suit further states that Allen raped the woman while choking her and took videos of their sexual encounters without her permission, among other incidents.

Allen responded in a statement, saying, “It is deeply troubling and hurtful that someone I counted as one of my closest friends, colleagues and confidants would make allegations that have no truth to them whatsoever.”

He acknowledged their sexual relationship but said that she never accused him of any wrongdoing during that time. He also questioned her motives, saying that she only hired a lawyer to ask for money after their relationship ended.

Despite the controversy, Allen is determined to protect his reputation and continue building his career.
