Conservatives React As You’d Expect To Biden’s Announcement Of ‘World Elder Abuse Awareness Day’

Conservatives immediately mocked President Joe Biden for proclaiming June 15 as “World Elder Abuse Awareness Day” in a Tuesday statement.

Biden began the proclamation by stating that 1 in 10 Americans 60 years and older face “abuse and neglect” in many forms, including financially, physically, emotionally and sexually. He touted the American Rescue Plan providing $178 billion toward Adult Protective Services and called on the U.S. to provide older Americans “peaceful” lives.

“On this World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, let us recommit to delivering all older Americans the promise of a comfortable and peaceful life with dignity.  Let us reaffirm our commitment to a world free from the scourge of abuse and neglect.  Let us join the world in celebrating the essential role older adults play in our lives,” the statement said.

“NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH R. BIDEN JR., President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim June 15, 2022, as World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.”

Conservative users mocked the president’s proclamation, with many suggesting it applies to him. (RELATED: Biden Roasted For ‘Shaking Hands’ With ‘Thin Air’ Following Speech)

“The White House just issued a proclamation recognizing ‘World Elder Abuse Day,’ which is tomorrow, apparently,” Daily Caller editorial director Vince Coglianese said. “Last week, they almost missed D-Day completely.”

“Joe Biden just released a statement on ‘World Elder Abuse Day.’ No, this is not a joke,” X Strategies LLC senior digital strategist Greg Price said.

Many conservative lawmakers and media pundits have suggested that Biden suffers from dementia and that allowing him to speak publicly and serve is “elder abuse” due to his numerous gaffes.
