Congressional investigators on⁤ a House committee express deep concern over a surge of anti-Semitic incidents ‍at Northwestern University.‌ Jewish students on ⁤campus have turned to lawmakers for assistance, as‌ they have been subjected to intimidation, bigotry,⁢ vandalism, and ⁢other‍ alleged hate crimes. ⁣In the aftermath of Hamas’s terror strike on Israel, Northwestern, like many other ⁢college campuses, has become a breeding ⁣ground for Jew-hatred. Students claim that ⁢school administrators have failed to address this‌ rising tide of anti-Semitism, prompting‍ them to petition ‌Congress for intervention.

The House Committee‍ on Education ‍and the Workforce, which is already investigating several top American schools for their failure to combat anti-Semitism,‌ has received a detailed⁤ report outlining the escalating events at Northwestern. This report highlights ‍the ⁢endangerment of ⁣Jewish students and their feeling of abandonment by ⁣the school’s leadership. The anti-semitism-probe/” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener”>Washington Free Beacon ⁣was the first to⁤ report on this matter.

A spokesperson⁢ for the House committee has stated that they are “very concerned” about‍ the findings presented by‌ Northwestern’s Jewish students. This concern may lead ⁤the committee, led by Rep. Virginia Foxx (R.,⁣ N.C.),⁣ to include⁤ Northwestern in its ongoing anti-Semitism probe, which⁣ aims to expose the ‍negligence of top schools in addressing Jew-hatred on their campuses.

“The committee is very concerned by the reports of anti-Semitic incidents from students at Northwestern,” the spokesperson said. “Institutions allowing or embracing‌ hostility against Jewish students demands scrutiny.”

Michael Rutsky, a student at Northwestern’s ‌Pritzker School of Law⁤ who assisted ⁤in compiling the documentation provided to Congress, has revealed that ‌the ‌school ⁣has attempted to discredit their⁤ claims ‍since going public with their concerns. Rutsky expressed his disappointment, stating that it does not‍ feel like Northwestern is genuinely concerned about the numerous reports of‍ anti-Semitic incidents.

Since the Free ‌Beacon reported on their complaint, Northwestern has rebuked their letter, ‍dismissing⁢ it as containing “numerous inaccuracies ⁣and exaggerations.” ⁣Rutsky emphasized that no ‌student wants to ‍write a 33-page letter ⁢to Congress about anti-Semitism at‌ their school, and the indifference shown by their school is disheartening.

Northwestern‌ has⁣ not responded to the‌ Free Beacon’s ⁣ request for ‍comment.

According to Rutsky, anti-Semitism has continued to run rampant at Northwestern since the initial complaint was ‍filed with House investigators.

For instance, on March 1, a landmark on Northwestern’s campus was defaced with the‌ words “Rest in Resistance Aaron Bushnell.” This refers to ⁣the ‍ 25-year-old ⁤U.S. ⁢serviceman who set himself‌ on fire outside⁢ the Israeli embassy⁢ in Washington, D.C.,‌ to protest alleged “genocide” by Israel.

This week, five Northwestern student ⁣law groups are⁢ hosting a “Palestine Teach-In” featuring several ⁢professors and supporters of the global movement to economically boycott Israel. Among the participants‌ is Omar Shakir, a supporter of the anti-Semitic‌ Boycott Divestment, and Sanctions movement, who works for Human Rights Watch, an NGO known for promoting anti-Israel propaganda.

Rutsky stated that there seems to⁤ be no end in ⁣sight when⁤ the ⁢school is left to self-police acceptable behavior. He respectfully calls on⁣ the House Committee to‌ exercise its‌ oversight powers and investigate ‌Northwestern’s pervasive anti-Semitism problem.

According to the ⁤students’ report, an “all out for Palestine” event held in November ‌of last year, a month after Hamas murdered over 1,200 Jews, featured‍ students ‍proudly⁤ posing next to Hamas flags. These flags were⁣ carried by individuals wearing paramilitary ‌fatigues similar to those worn by Hamas. During this event, a Jewish student reported hiding in their apartment to avoid the anti-Israel mob‍ rallying ‍across campus.

Students⁢ have also discovered anti-Semitic flyers‌ on campus, including near their living quarters. One⁢ flyer depicted a Star of David, images of ‍red blood, and a photo of a child, titled “Murdered by Israel,” according to the complaint.

What measures has Northwestern University taken to address the alleged hate crimes and vandalism faced by Jewish students?

Nued to rise at Northwestern University in the wake of the recent Hamas terror attack on Israel, leading to Jewish students feeling intimidated, facing bigotry, vandalism, and other alleged hate crimes. These ‍incidents, combined with the school’s lack⁣ of response, have prompted Jewish students to⁢ turn to lawmakers for assistance, resulting in an ongoing investigation by the House Committee on Education and‍ the Workforce.

As of ‌now, Northwestern has not responded to the Free Beacon’s request for comment.

According to Rutsky, anti-Semitism continues to rise at Northwestern University, creating an environment where Jewish students feel targeted and unsafe. The lack of action ‍from the school’s administration has led these students to seek assistance from lawmakers, ⁢calling for a thorough investigation into the ⁣rise of ‌anti-Semitism on campus. It is crucial for institutions ⁣of higher education to address and combat hate crimes to ensure the safety and well-being ⁢of all ⁤students, regardless⁢ of⁢ their religious or ethnic backgrounds.
