Comey says he ‘would not’ be surprised by more indictments from Trump DOJ
Former FBI Director James Comey said he wouldn’t be surprised if the Department of Justice brings a third indictment against him amid ongoing legal and political pressure tied to the trump administration. He’s currently awaiting a July trial over a social media post prosecutors say was meant to threaten President Donald Trump,while Comey denies any violent intent and says he’s confident he knows the facts and the legal process.He added that he expects the scrutiny to continue as long as the current administration remains in office. The case centers on a deleted Instagram image interpreted as reading “86 47,” which prosecutors claim refers to removing Trump (86) and Trump’s alleged number as the 47th president (47). Comey has also been charged in a separate case with allegedly lying to Congress about leaks to the press, and his strained relationship with Trump dates back to Trump firing him in 2017-an episode later central to the Mueller inquiry.

In a Monday interview with MS NOW’s Nicolle Wallace, Comey said he sees the possibility of additional charges as part of a broader pattern.
“This is only going to go away when this administration leaves office, because Donald Trump is obsessed with me and with others,” Comey said. “He is not going to let it go because he’s an empty narcissist who has suffered some wounds he believes at my hand … no matter what it takes.”
Despite the scrutiny, Comey said he remains confident ahead of the trial.
“I know the system. I know me. I know the facts. I know my lawyers. I know judges,” he said. “But look, I’m very concerned for the country. I’m very concerned for what’s happening at the Department of Justice and the FBI.”
The case centers on a now-deleted Instagram post showing seashells arranged to read “86 47.” Prosecutors argue the message was threatening, saying “86” can mean to eliminate and “47” refers to Trump as the 47th president. Comey has denied any violent intent.
