Colin Kaepernick supports book partnership with Marxists, claims ‘Black liberation’ unattainable in capitalism.

Former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick has teamed up with “prominent black Marxists” on an exciting book project. The aim of this project is to defend race-centered curriculum in American schools, while also taking a swipe at capitalism.

In an interview with The New Republic, Kaepernick explains his decision to collaborate with Marxist academics Robin D.G. Kelley and Keeanga-Yamahtta Taylor on the anthology “Our History Has Always Been Contraband: In Defense of Black Studies.” This book emerged from a battle over AP African American Studies courses, which initially included elements of Critical Race Theory (CRT) and radical gender theories. However, the curriculum was revised after pushback from Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

Kaepernick, the millionaire quarterback-turned-racial-activist, states, “I’ve long admired Keeanga and Robin’s work as well as their uncompromising political analysis. They understand that Black liberation simply isn’t possible under capitalism. I believe the anthology effectively presents this argument and I hope it challenges readers to recognize that racism is not the sole ingredient of white supremacy. White supremacy persists due to its connection with capitalism, heteropatriarchy, ableism, and more.”

According to Kaepernick, attacking “black studies” is a crucial part of the “white supremacist political project” of Republicans like Governor Ron DeSantis, who opposed CRT-based curricula in schools.

In addition to editing the anthology, Kaepernick, Kelley, and Taylor have also contributed their own essays. The book also features essays by W.E.B. Du Bois and Angela Davis, both of whom condemn capitalism, as reported by the Daily Mail here.

You can find the thought-provoking book that challenges capitalism on Amazon. It is available in hardcover for $52 and in paperback for $19.95.

Kaepernick’s last season in the NFL was in 2016, the same year he began protesting against police brutality by kneeling during the National Anthem. During that season, the 49ers had a disappointing record of 10 losses and only one win with Kaepernick as their quarterback. He was eventually benched and cut from the team.

Now, the passionate activist runs a non-profit organization that focuses on empowering “black and brown youth.” He resides in a stunning $5.4 million mansion in Las Vegas. Kaepernick attributes his evolving political thinking to reading the works of Black radical thinkers and engaging in conversations with Black radical organizers.
