The recent public display of hand-holding between CNN’s Alisyn Camerota and former CNN boss Jeff Zucker has caused quite a stir within the network, according to a new report.
According to the New York Post’s Page Six, the two are ”just old friends,” and there is no cause for concern as Zucker is currently in a happy relationship with former CNN executive Allison Gollust.
“Allison and Jeff have never been happier,” a source told Page Six.
The source also revealed that Camerota and Zucker were simply meeting Allison for coffee.

However, according to the U.K. Daily Mail, “network insiders” have described the incident as “inappropriate” and “disrespectful,” especially considering recent events at the network, including the departures of Don Lemon and former CNN boss Chris Licht.
“Yes, they are best friends, but staff members—especially women at CNN—think that her attention-seeking actions were just tacky and quite disrespectful,” the source told the Daily Mail.
The source also pointed out Camerota’s previous criticism of inappropriate behavior at Fox News, saying, “Alisyn should know better, especially after talking so much s–t about Fox over co-workers’ inappropriate behavior there.”
While the controversy continues, it is worth noting that both Zucker and Gollust had a relationship during their time at CNN, according to the New York Post. However, both have since left the network.
Camerota was the only current CNN employee seen at the event, which was a party hosted by Don Lemon to celebrate a book by “The View” co-host Sunny Hostin, as reported by the Daily Mail.
Despite the rumors, the source confirmed that Camerota is not getting a divorce and would not jeopardize her job or marriage for Jeff.
“It was most likely done as a slap in the face for Allison [Gollust]. Why? Nobody knows. The entire thing is just so strange with them all being there with Don,” the source added.
