CNN Finally Fact-Checks Don Lemon, But Only After He’s Been Fired

CNN’s PR department has finally spoken out about the departure of former anchor Don Lemon, and surprise, surprise, it seems like Lemon wasn’t exactly truthful about how he was let go. According to CNN, Lemon was offered a meeting with management but instead chose to release a statement on Twitter. This isn’t exactly out of character for Lemon, whose days’ recaps on his now-canceled show were rarely accurate. In fact, the Media Research Center has compiled a list of his “worst” moments. Lemon claimed he was blindsided by his firing and not given any indication that he would be let go, but his comment wishing his former colleagues the best should have been a dead giveaway that something was amiss. It’s hard to know who to trust in this situation, but it’s clear that CNN’s editorial oversight and fact-checking skills would have come in handy when Lemon was still on the network.
