Climate Activists Block the Road and Refuse to Move, Have Change of Heart When Nevada Ranger’s Truck Comes Speeding Into View
On one side, a group of passionate climate change activists had taken a stand, blocking the road to the annual Burning Man festival in Nevada. On the other side, law enforcement officials in a pickup truck were growing increasingly frustrated with the traffic backup.
However, as videos posted on social media by FreedomNews.tv showed, the outcome was clear. The rangers from the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribal Police Department drove straight through the blockade, according to the U.K.’s Daily Mail.

Once the blockade was cleared, the protesters seemed to lose their fighting spirit, whining and crying as tribal rangers ordered them to the ground, as shown in the videos.
The protesters were later charged with trespassing on tribal land, according to the New York Post.

Prior to the dramatic end of the blockade, there were heated arguments between drivers and protesters. Some drivers even attempted to push the barricade out of the road. One female protester who had chained herself to the trailer blocking the road cried out, “Hey, you’re hurting me.” A man trying to move the barrier responded, “Well, you chained yourself to it.” Another woman called the tactic a “dumb-a** move,” according to Western Journal.
The protesters, who belonged to the group Seven Circles, claimed that their protest aimed to draw attention to “capitalism’s inability to address climate’s ecological breakdown” and the commodification of the Burning Man festival by affluent individuals who do not align with its values, as reported by the New York Post.
The group argued that the festival’s actions contradicted its stated values, especially as carbon emissions continue to rise despite commitments to reduce them. They believe that the economic system of capitalism is the root cause of the problem and that it cannot be reformed from within.
“We do not have a climate problem, the climate is behaving exactly in line with the laws of physics,” said Thomas Diocano, co-founder of Rave Revolution. ”We have an economic system problem, and that economic system is capitalism. Are we really ready to sacrifice everything for an outdated, unequal economic system? The time to evolve has come,” he added.
