Buffalo Wild Wings has been named in class-action lawsuit Chicago resident accused the restaurant chain, Boneless Wings, of misleading and deceptive advertising. He believes that these boneless wings are chicken nuggets.

Documents obtained from the court WGN-TV Aimen Halim, show plaintiff, filed the complaint against Inspire Brands and the restaurant chain on Friday at the US District Court for Northern Illinois. “is responsible for the composition, preparation, advertising, marketing and sale of ‘Buffalo Wild Wings’ product.”

“This class action seeks to challenge the false and deceptive marketing and advertising of Buffalo Wild Wings’ Boneless Wings,” These filings are available. “Specifically, the name and description of the Products (i.e., as “Boneless Wings”) leads reasonable consumers to believe the Products are actually chicken wings. “

Halim claims that people were led to believe the defendants deboned the chicken wings. This would have meant that they would be entirely composed of chicken wing flesh.

When asked by The Daily Wire for comment, a spokesperson from Buffalo Wild Wings directed The Daily Wire towards a tweet from their official account.

“It’s true,” This tweet is. “Our boneless wings are all white meat chicken. Our hamburgers contain no ham. Our buffalo wings are 0% buffalo.”

Halim bought boneless wings at a Mount Prospect, Illinois location in January. This was when he claimed that the restaurant had one of its most popular food items.

Plaintiff and other consumers would have paid less for the chicken if they had known the truth, according to the lawsuit.

“As a result, Mr. Halim suffered a financial injury as a result of Defendants’ false and deceptive conduct,” The lawsuit is here.

In the complaint Halim said that Buffalo Wild Wings was likened to Papa John’s or Domino’s, stating that they sell boneless wings and reveal the products are made of white chicken breast meat.

Halim also mentioned a New York Times article in 2009 that detailed the practice of selling bonesless products “wings” These wings are not real wings, they are derived from the high-flying cost of chicken wings and the decline in chicken breast prices.

Mike Bell, Buffalo Wild Wings’ purchasing and logistics manager, said that “basically a whole bunch of [poultry processors] are throwing their hands in the air and saying, ‘I don’t know what’s going on. We’ve never seen it this way.'”

Prices for a pound of chicken breasts — boneless and skinless — dropped nearly a full dollar compared to the rise of bone-in wings in 2020, a USDA National Retail Report WGN-TV viewed the demonstration. WGN-TV observed that the prices of boneless and skinless chicken breasts decreased from $3.99 to $3.53 per pound in the last year. While whole wings dropped from $4.29 a pound to $2.30.

Halim is seeking to represent consumers in a class action lawsuit in Illinois and a nationwide class suit. He seeks damages, injunctive relief and restitution. Declaatory relief and any other remedies that the Court considers appropriate.
