Chris Cuomo’s Book Contract Dropped By HarperCollins

Chris Cuomo’s upcoming book with HarperCollins Publishers has been canceled following the host’s firing from CNN, according to a new report.

“I can confirm that we don’t intend to publish the book,” HarperCollins’ Custom House imprint spokesperson Kelly Rudolph told The New York Post on Tuesday.

Cuomo’s book “Deep Denial” was originally set for an earlier release, but the scheduled date was changed to October 15, 2022, according to Publishers Marketplace, the report noted.

The Daily Wire previously reported that CNN had terminated Cuomo on Saturday. The termination came amidst new information coming out about his alleged involvement in helping his brother, then-New York Democrat Governor Andrew Cuomo, navigate a public relations crisis involving sexual misconduct allegations.

“Chris Cuomo was suspended earlier this week pending further evaluation of new information that came to light about his involvement with his brother’s defense,” CNN said in a statement. “We retained a respected law firm to conduct the review, and have terminated him, effective immediately.”

“While in the process of that review, additional information has come to light,” the network added. “Despite the termination, we will investigate as appropriate.”

Cuomo had previously been suspended indefinitely after documents released by New York Attorney General Letitia James showed that he was more involved in helping his brother than he previously disclosed.

The network also weighed allegations made by lawyer Debra S. Katz, who said she represented a woman who claims Chris Cuomo sexually harassed her at ABC News. CNN claimed in a statement that, in the process of its review of these documents, “additional information has come to light.”

One of Cuomo’s former producers, Shelley Ross of ABC News, publicly accused Cuomo of sexually harassing her months ago. “He walked toward me and greeted me with a strong bear hug while lowering one hand to firmly grab and squeeze the cheek of my buttock,” she wrote in The New York Times on September 24.

Meanwhile, sources reportedly told Page Six that Cuomo’s former CNN producer Melanie Buck left the program because she “felt threatened.”

On Saturday, Cuomo expressed his disappointment at being let go by CNN, where he anchored the 9 p.m. “Cuomo Prime Time.”

“This is not how I want my time at CNN to end,” he wrote.

On Monday, Cuomo also announced that he’s leaving his syndicated radio show just days after CNN fired him.

Speculation swirled as former ABC News anchor Brian Ross guest-hosted Monday’s episode of the radio program, “Let’s Get After It with Chris Cuomo.”

Cuomo announced his exit from the network on Monday afternoon via Twitter.

“The way my time ended at CNN was hard. While I have a thick skin, I also have a family, for whom the past week has been extraordinarily difficult. So, right now, I have to take a step back and focus on what comes next,” wrote Cuomo. “That means I will no longer be doing my SiriusXM radio show.”
