Chris Christie Doubts Indictment Would Help Trump In 2024

The former Republican governor of New Jersey, Chris Christie, has shared his thoughts on the impact an indictment would have on former President Donald Trump’s chances of winning the 2024 election. Christie thinks that indicting Trump would not help him win the election, and he believes that Trump is looking to create chaos and turmoil on his terms.

While some experts believe that an indictment or conviction of Trump would present significant challenges to his candidacy, Twitter CEO Elon Musk predicts Trump would win by a “landslide” if he is arrested. Former Vice President Mike Pence feels that Trump is being subjected to a “politically charged prosecution.”

Christie, who was a federal prosecutor before serving as governor and previously ran for president in 2016, initially supported Trump’s campaign but has become increasingly critical of him over the years. Christie is also said to be considering a 2024 presidential run of his own.

Trump is under investigation by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg for alleged hush-money payments to adult film actress Stormy Daniels. Trump denies any wrongdoing in the matter and claims Bragg’s inquiry is politically motivated. Amid reports of an imminent indictment, Trump announced on social media that he expects to be arrested on Tuesday.

Christie also criticized Bragg for being too soft on violent criminals and failing to uphold law and order, highlighting his “revolving door” approach to such criminals.

While Christie believes that most Americans won’t change their opinion of Trump based on the Stormy Daniels situation, he thinks that an image of a former president being processed, fingerprinted, and indicted would drastically change public perception.

Regardless of one’s political inclination or opinion, the former governor’s views suggest that Trump’s potential legal problems could have a significant impact on his political aspirations.
