China Suspected of Sending Military Personnel into the United States
Rep. Mark Green (R., Tenn.) made a startling announcement on Wednesday, suggesting that China may be taking advantage of the chaos at the southern border to infiltrate military personnel into the United States.
The House Homeland Security Committee chairman revealed during a press conference that many of the Chinese nationals apprehended at the border have “known ties to the PLA.” Green claims to have received this information from a border patrol sector chief and anticipates a classified briefing on the matter in the near future.
According to Green, these Chinese nationals have been released into the United States without proper identity verification. “We have no idea who these people are, and it’s very likely, using Russia’s template of sending military personnel into Ukraine, China is doing the same into the United States,” he continued.
Surge of Migrants from China at the Southern Border
Border Patrol has witnessed a significant increase in migrants from China attempting to cross into the United States. Customs and Border Protection data reveals that since January, nearly 8,000 Chinese nationals have been encountered at the southern border, surpassing the number from fiscal year 2022 by more than four times.
In fiscal year 2023, Border Patrol has also apprehended ninety-eight individuals on the FBI’s terror watch list, with 16 of them being captured in the month of February alone.
