China Simulates ‘Precision Strikes’ On ‘Key’ Targets In Taiwan After President’s U.S. Visit

In a single day of drills that most experts believe are meant to intimidate Taiwan, the Chinese army is simulating attacks on” important targets” in Taiwan following President Tsai Ing-wen’s’s trip to the country last month.

On Friday, Tsai returned from her visit to America, during which she met with House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) – the highest-level meeting between a sitting Taiwanese president and American official ever to take place on American soil – prompting strong warnings from Beijing. The Chinese military began three days of drills on Saturday, even rehearsing an “encirclement” of the island.

“Under the unified command of the theatre joint operations command center, multiple types of units carried out simulated joint precision strikes on key targets on Taiwan island and the surrounding sea areas, and continue to maintain an offensive posture around the island,” Chinese state TV reported Sunday.

According to the Taiwan Defense Ministry, 11 Chinese navy ships and 71 Chinese warplanes were spotted around Taiwan on Sunday, with 45 planes reportedly entering Taiwan’s air defense identification zone on Saturday. State media claimed the aircraft were armed with live weapons, Reuters reported, which Taiwanese planes also employ when attempting to scramble Chinese jets.

According to a security base, there are approximately ten Chinese ships and 10 Chinese ships in conflict along the Taiwan Strait middle line, which serves as an illegal buffer between Taiwan and Communist China.

According to another source with knowledge of the situation, Taiwan is neither China’s’s primary goal. Off Taiwan’s’s southwest coast, China is rumored to be simulating air and sea attacks on” foreign military goals.” The source told the outlet,” It’s’s very provocative.”

According to Zhao Xiaozhuo of China’s’s Academy of Military Sciences, this is the first instance of Communist China publicly discussing simulated attacks on particular Chinese targets. Military logistics equipment, airports, and mobile targets are also included, according to Zhao, who also clarified what” key goals” might think.

Zhao reportedly added that China would” annihilate” the targets” in one fell swoop if necessary ,” according to the Global Times.

The de facto American embassy in Taiwan stated in a statement that it was” comfortable and confident” in America’s’s capacity to maintain peace and stability in the area, and that the situation was being closely monitored.

Before the Taiwanese training started last month, Secretary of State Antony Blinken warned Euronews that an attack on Taiwan by China would have significant repercussions.

There is concern that, should China’s’s things over Taiwan result in a crisis, that would have implications for practically every country on earth, according to Blinken, who said this in discussions with many of our NATO allies and partners in Asia.

Since Tsai’s’s vote, when the Democratic Progressive Party supports remaining active from the communist nation, China has repeatedly provoked Taiwan. Following Rep. Nancy Pelosi’s’s ( D-CA ) visit to Taiwan in August, China took a number of provocative actions, including sending Chinese ships and planes into and close to the Taiwan Strait, 21 of which entered the air defense zone of Taiwan.

President Xi Jinping demanded” reunification” with Taiwan at the Chinese Communist Party Congress in October and asserted that the communist country is ready to use force to achieve it, saying they” Reserve the option of taking all necessary measures ,” The Daily Wire previously reported.

In his opening remarks at the party congress, Xi declared that” the tires of history are turning towards China’s’s reconciliation and the regeneration of the Chinese land.” ” Our nation may be completely reunified.”
