Charlamagne Tha God Torches The Dalai Lama: ‘They Don’t Got No Child Services In Tibet?’

Charlamagne Tha God, a radio host, expressed his disappointment towards the Dalai Lama in a recent episode of The Breakfast Club after a video circulated online, featuring the 87-year-old spiritual Tibetan leader kissing a young boy on the mouth with his tongue out earlier this year in India. The incident took place during an event for the M3M Foundation, a charity organization, that was created by an Indian real estate company.

Charlamagne argued that while some individuals might say the behavior was a part of the Tibetan culture, it did not justify the act of asking a young child to suck one’s tongue. He further suggested that the behavior was unacceptable and inappropriate. Charlamagne also wondered if there was any child protective services in Tibet.

The video prompted an apology from the Dalai Lama’s official social media account for any damage hurtful comments may have caused to the young boy and his family.

The statement explained that the Dalai Lama has a playful and innocent way of teasing others, even in public, and he regrets the incident.

The incident has drawn criticism from others, including CNN panelist, who defended the act as non-sexual.
