Rapper Cardi B reiterated her criticisms of Joe Biden, joining the wave of celebrities of color distancing themselves from the Democratic candidate for president this November.

Cardi B, whose legal name is Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar, continued to commit that she will not be voting in the 2024 elections in an interview with the Rolling Stone. Her switch from once endorsing Biden ahead of the 2020 election to now not voting for either candidate this year, comes from “layers and layers of disappointment” in the current president.

“I feel like people got betrayed,” Cardi B said. “It’s just like, d***, y’all not caring about nobody.”

Meanwhile, under Biden’s direction, Congress allotted another $26.38 billion to Israel amid its fight in Gaza against Hamas. Cardi B implied that artists of color, in particular, can be “blackballed” for expressing their disapproval of the war.

“[The U.S.] don’t pay for endless wars for countries that have been going through s*** for a very long time,” Cardi B said. “There’s countries [where] kids are getting killed every single day, but because the [U.S.] won’t benefit from that country, they won’t help. I don’t like that America has this superhero cape on. We never did things to be superheroes. We did things for our own convenience.”

Few celebrities have endorsed Biden so far this election cycle. Actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson similarly rescinded his endorsement of the incumbent. However, writer and actress Mindy Kaling and singer Lizzo gave their endorsements by appearing at Biden’s $25 million fundraising event in New York earlier this year.

Biden has been putting in an extra concerted effort to appeal to black voters recently, as he announced an additional $16 billion in federal funding for historically black colleges and universities on Thursday. The president will also address Morehouse College, an HBCU, during its commencement on Sunday.
