Candace Owens Gives Touching Tribute To Grandfather In New Episode

In this week’s show, Candace Owens gives a touching tribute to her grandfather discussing the eternal values and principles that he instilled in her. She reflects on the role her grandfather played in her life and how he helped her find her voice.

“I have only ever known one giant and I have stood on his shoulders my entire life. I have shared that giant with the world to the best of my ability,” Owens says about her grandfather in the show, “There isn’t a single person who can legitimately say that they are a Candace Owens fan who cannot also tell you something about my grandfather.”

Candace went on to recall fondly how her grandfather was watching when she was quizzed by Democrat Representative Ted Lieu in front of Congress and how she chose to dedicate her bestselling book Blackout to him.

“I have toured the country, non-stop over these last four years. I’ve delivered hundreds of speeches in front of thousands upon thousands of different people. I can say honestly that I have never left any of those stages without telling the story of my granddad,” she said. 

Her grandfather was born in 1941 on a sharecropping farm in segregated North Carolina as one of 12 children who overcame many obstacles throughout his life. He was always a steady presence in her life from when she was young learning to ride a bike to when she was first going to testify before Congress. 

“Granddad took a flight up from North Carolina to DC to meet me there. He invited himself. Insisted on being there. Sat right behind me. His presence was the push I needed. He knew I was ready,” she explains, “When I think of granddad, I think of 2 steady hands, always behind me, my whole entire life.”

She also praised her grandfather’s impressive work ethic. 

“He worked from the time he was 5 years old, until the day he died because he couldn’t understand the concept of retirement. He genuinely could not grasp it. For him, self-worth was tied to what you could contribute to your household and in turn to your society. I hold the same view. So much of me is him,” Owens says.
