Canada Deploys Military Aircraft to Japan In Order to Implement Sanctions on North Korea

To support the implementation of UN Security Council sanctions against North Korea, Canada announced on Thursday that it would send a military plane to Japan.

Anita Anand, the American Defense Minister, announced the rollout of the Royal Canadian Air Force CP-140 Aurora Aircraft.

According to the French government, the CP-140 Aurora will keep an eye out for suspected coastal sanctions escape activities, particularly ship-to-ship transfers of petrol and other commodities prohibited by the Security Council, for about six weeks.

Since 2006, the United Nations has imposed sanctions on North Korea due to its ballistic missile and nuclear services.

As president Kim Jong Un cautioned joint military drills by South Korea and the U.S. to stop, North Korea tested a new nuclear-capable underground attack helicopter later in March, according to its state media.

China and Russia have already accused South Korea and the United States of inciting Pyongyang through joint military exercises. In the meantime, Washington has charged Beijing and Moscow with defending North Korea from additional punishment, giving it more confidence.

The Security Council has been divided over how to handle Pyongyang for the past few years. More restrictions, according to Russia, China, the United States, Britain, and France, did not support and call for the easing of such options.
