‘But Her Emails’: Hillary Clinton Fundraises With Merchandise After Trump Raid

Former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton began fundraising Tuesday using merchandise with the phrase “But Her Emails,” following the FBI raid on former President Donald Trump’s home.

Clinton announced the sale of hats and t-shirts displaying the phrase on her website, Onward Together, hours after Monday evening’s raid on Mar-a-Lago in connection to 15 boxes of classified White House documents that had been moved to Trump’s private Florida residence.

The former Secretary of State and First Lady said on Twitter the merchandise raises money to help “defend democracy, build a progressive bench, and fight for our values.”

“Just saying!” she added in the tweet.

Clinton touted that the hats sold out within a few a hours, but would later be available for pre-order again.

Clinton also promoted the products in February after reports circulated that Trump allegedly flushed documents down the toilets in the White House, according to The Hill. Trump denied these allegations, though newly revealed images seem to show torn-up papers in the toilets, CNN reported. The phrase “But Her Emails” references the over-30,000 deleted emails from Clinton’s private email server erased by her team of aides and lawyers when she served as Secretary of State. Clinton and her team did not turn over the emails to the State Department in December 2014, claiming they were private in nature.

The FBI re-opened an investigation into Clinton’s emails 11 days before the 2016 presidential election. The agency discovered her use of a private server during an investigation into former Democratic congressman, Anthony Weiner, who was investigated for allegedly sexting with an underage girl.
