Kate Beckinsale Addresses Plastic Surgery Speculations

Kate Beckinsale recently addressed plastic surgery rumors, highlighting the impact of persistent bullying on her‍ mental well-being. After a⁢ hospitalization ‌in March, the actress ⁣shared on ⁤Instagram videos spanning two decades, emphasizing that her appearance changes are due to natural aging, not surgical alterations. Beckinsale spoke out against ⁢the harmful trend of online bullying regarding her looks and aging process.

Kate Beckinsale shut down plastic surgery rumors and said theinsidious bullying” over time takes a toll on her mental health — following a hospital stay in March for an undisclosed health issue.

In a lengthy post on Sunday on Instagram, the 50-year-old actress posted two videos, one of her twenty years ago and another more recent, and said that the only reason she looks different is that she’s aged. However, she was adamant that she had not undergone any surgery to change her looks and asked people to stop bullying her.

“Every time I post anything — and by the way, this has been the case since I was about 30 — I am accused of having had unrecognizable surgery/using Botox using fillers/being obsessed with looking younger, and it’s really such a tiresome and subtly vicious way to bully a person,” Beckinsale wrote.

“I don’t actually do any of those things — I’ve even gone to the trouble of having a plastic surgeon categorically state that I don’t and haven’t, and still, every time there’s a chorus of ‘my God, you’re unrecognizable,’” she added. “‘Oh my God PLASTIC, oh my God, you don’t even look like yourself anymore,’ it happens constantly and it’s usually women that are doing it.”

“Life happens — obviously I have aged, everybody ages,” Beckinsale continued. “I’m not too concerned about aging — because I found my father dead at the age of 5, I spent most of my teenage years and a good deal of my 20s absolutely crippled with severe anxiety and panic attacks that I was going to die of a heart attack too, and went to emergency rooms often, and was almost, at that time of my life, completely immobilized by that anxiety.”

The “Click” star noted that the difference in the two videos was things like how she had “paler” skin because she “lived in the UK” or used to pluck her eyebrows too much, and most noticeably had a “fuller face” because she was younger.

She closed out her post noting that she’s fully aware that even saying all this “will have absolutely no effect” on those bullying her.

“It isn’t going to stop,” Beckinsale wrote. “But I’m also posting it because whatever someone looks like, accusing them constantly of things they haven’t done, or being obsessed with youth when actually, currently I’m obsessed with surviving loss, is bullying. Please stop now.”

The “Serendipity” star’s post comes as her family has been dealing with the loss of her step-father, British TV director Roy Battersby. He died in January of a “massive stroke” while battling cancer, Page Six noted. He was 87.

At the time, Beckinsale shared a video of her stepfather and wrote on social media, “I have no words yet . Thank you[[katebeckinsale_slovakia2]for making this beautiful thing. I fought for you with everything I had. Oh Roy, I am so sorry I lost.”
