Richmond police are investigating a bullet that went through the Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares’ office, according to a report.

Authorities were alerted Monday that a bullet was found in the Barbara Johns building, where the attorney general works, according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch. Police spokesman Joe Macenka reportedly said a small hole was found at the top of the sixth-floor window.

In an email to the attorney general’s office early on Tuesday, Chief Deputy Attorney General Chuck Slemp said that the cleaning staff had discovered the bullet, reports the news agency.

“There is no indication that this incident was targeted at the OAG specifically or any individual employee,” the email to the attorney general’s office said.

“We want to assure you that your safety at work is of paramount importance to the Attorney General,” Slemp added.

This is a breaking news story that will be updated.
