Man Charged with Threatening President After U-Haul Truck Crashes into White House Barriers

A man has been charged with multiple crimes, including threatening to harm the president, after a U-Haul truck crashed into barriers around the White House on Monday night. The driver, who has not been identified, hit a security gate at Lafayette Park, located in front of the White House gates. The crash occurred on the north side of Lafayette Square at 16th Street at around 10 p.m. The Secret Service reported that the U-Haul’s cargo hold was empty, but a Nazi flag was found in the cab of the truck. Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi stated that a “preliminary investigation reveals that the driver may have intentionally struck the security barriers.” No injuries were reported, and the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
