President Donald Trump says Iran wants a ceasefire, but he is not quite ready to sign a deal.

“Iran’s New Regime President, much less Radicalized and far more intelligent than his predecessors, has just asked the United States of America for a CEASEFIRE!” Trump posted Wednesday on . “We will consider when Hormuz Strait is open, free, and clear.”

“Until then, we are blasting Iran into oblivion or, as they say, back to the Stone Ages!!! President DJT.”

As noted by Axios, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Tuesday said Iran could be willing to stop fighting but the U.S. would need to stop attacking Iran and promise not to attack Iran again.

Trump’s comment comes as U.S. Central Command noted the extent of the pounding Iran has received since the war began on Feb. 11.

“U.S. Navy fighter jets prepare for a combat flight during Operation Epic Fury. To date, U.S. forces have flown over 12,000 combat flights directly supporting Operation Epic Fury,” Central Command posted on X.

On Tuesday night, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in pre-recorded address that the war has weakened Iran, according to the Jerusalem Post.

“We are heavily crippling the regime that has called for ‘Death to Israel’ and ‘Death to America’ for the past decade,” he said. “The Ayatollah’s regime is weaker than ever and Israel is stronger than ever.”

“Ahead of the war, Israel fought Iran alone. Now, the U.S. and Israel are fighting side by side against Iran.”

Noting Israeli pounding of Hezbollah in Lebanon, Netanyahu added, “we broke the strength of Iran’s proxies that threatened us.”

On Tuesday, Trump indicated the war might be winding down.

“We’re not going to be there too much longer. We’re obliterating… them right now,” Trump told the New York Post.

“We won’t have to be there much longer — but we have more work to do in terms of killing their offensive, whatever offensive capability they have left,” he said.

Trump said the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran has blocked during the war will reopen when the fighting ends.

“Well, I think it’ll automatically open, but my attitude is, I’ve obliterated the country. They have no strength left, and let the countries that are using the strait, let them go and open it,” he said. “I would imagine whoever’s controlling the oil will be very happy to open the strait.”
