Bob Saget’s Widow Kelly Rizzo Tearfully Shares Their Last Text Conversation: ‘There Was Nothing Left Unsaid’

It’s been more than one week since comedian and “Full House” alum Bob Saget died unexpectedly at the age of 65.

Family who knew him and fans who loved him are all still working to process the loss of this Hollywood mainstay who touched so many hearts over the course of his decades-long career. Saget was excited to be embarking on a new comedy tour in 2022 when he reportedly passed in his sleep in a Florida hotel room.

No one is more distraught over the “America’s Funniest Home Videos” host than his wife, Kelly Rizzo, and his children. Recently, Saget’s widow made an appearance on “Today” and revealed to host Hoda Kotb what the contents of his last text message said.

“I was just very grateful that it was all ‘I love you so much.’ I think I said, ‘I love you dearly,’ and he said, ‘I love you endlessly.’ And then I said, ‘I can’t wait to see you tomorrow.’ It was just all love,” Rizzo shared through her tears.

The pair married in 2018, and according to Rizzo, they’ve always been expressive of their feelings for each other.

“He valued every single second that we had together,” the Eat Travel Rock founder told Kotb. “That’s why this is so heartbreaking, but at the same time I know that every second that we had together was just maximized to the fullest. There was nothing left unsaid, and there was nothing left on the table.”

Rizzo also alluded that Saget didn’t have any health problems and wasn’t sick when he passed. As of now, the comedian’s cause of death is still uncertain.

She did say Saget was mentally distressed by “everything going on in the world” but still tried maintaining a positive attitude.

“All I’ll say was he was very happy and thrilled to be back out on the road,” she told “Today.”

“He was also very sensitive, and just all the weight of everything going on in the world, it was just weighing very heavily on him, and that’s why he felt more compelled than ever to make people laugh.”

“He was everyone’s dear friend,” Rizzo said. “No one will ever be like Bob.”

Earlier, Saget’s 34-year-old daughter Aubrey shared the last text her father sent as well. It was very similar to the one he sent Rizzo. The Daily Wire reported that her last words from her dad said, “Thank u. Love u. Showtime!” just before he went onstage for his final comedy performance on his “I Don’t Do Negative” stand up tour.

On January 14, friends and family joined to have a memorial service for Saget. Rizzo recalled how many of the 100 attendees shared that they had spoken as recently as the week before, which she said proved what a loyal and committed friend he was to everyone.

“I’m like, ‘How did he have the time to talk to everybody and tell everybody that he loved them all the time?’” Rizzo said. She did admit that her late husband was always on the phone.

“I knew that that’s how it was ‘cause he told me 500 times a day, but there was not one person out there that doubted his love for them,” she said.
