Bill Maher Tells Joe Rogan Dems Are “Going to Get Their A** Kicked In November”
Bill Maher told podcast host Joe Rogan he’s not “more conservative,” that it’s “the Left that has gotten goofier,” and that Democrats are “going to get their a** kicked in November.”
During “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast Tuesday, Rogan sat down with the host of HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher.” The two talked about how five years ago, no one was saying terms like “pregnant men,” and now that’s what he hears from the Left and Democrats. They agreed that what people “hunger” for is “common sense.” Part of the discussion can be seen in the clip below. It also starts in the podcast at the 10:15 minute mark here.
“I think it’s because we are both seen as people who are common-sensical,” Maher shared. “And that is what there is a hunger for, I think, in America more than anything, is common sense. Away from the extremes.”
[embedded content]“People say to me, ‘Don’t you think you’ve gotten more conservative?’ No, I haven’t,” Maher continued. “The Left has gotten goofier. So, I seem more conservative, maybe. But like, it’s not me who changed. I feel I’m the same guy, but five years ago we hadn’t spent $6 trillion to stay home. I mean, I understand we had to do something with the pandemic. I’m not sure… we didn’t spend a trillion to bail out the economy in 2008.”
“Five years ago, no one was talking about abolishing the police,” Maher continued. “There was no talk about pregnant men. I mean, looting was still illegal. So, like have I changed? No, because if someone had said 20 years ago ‘I’m not sure looting is a bad thing,’ I would’ve opposed it then. So, I haven’t changed.”
The former host of “Politically Incorrect” said that he would always tell the Democrats “just don’t be the party of no common sense,” and he said they would be surprised how well that would work out for them.
“As opposed to what’s going to happen, which is they’re going to get their a** kicked in November,” Maher shared.
Rogan said Maher was important to him because he defines “what it means, to me, to be liberal” because he’s just a “normal person who cares about people’s rights and wants a certain amount of freedom.”
Rogan went on to explain h0w Maher just wants “people to get along and work things out amicably,” but the “polarization” in the country has made it so that people like him are “rare.”
The podcaster also said “not talking to people who you disagree with” is a crazy idea that’s just going to result in “galvanizing” them as we get more “associated” with this idea of “Left and Right and good and bad.”
Later in the show, Rogan talked about how corporations are “leaning into woke hardcore” and Maher said, “they are petrified of some kind of backlash.”
“I mean Disney, one of the most gay-friendly companies that we’ve had in a very long time,” Maher shared. “Corporations, I think yes, are always going to want to… Look, I am glad they are progressive thinking, but of course like everything on the Left these days, they just take it too far.” (Disclosure: The Daily Wire has announced plans for kids entertainment content.)
