Former Attorney General Bill Barr has given his endorsement to former President Donald Trump in the 2024 election, stressing the need for Republicans to win in November.

Barr, who up until recently had been critical of the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, has now described the election as a “binary choice” between Trump and President Joe Biden.

“I support President Trump, and one of the reasons is because I think many of our critical problems, including the regulation, crime, restoring law and order, restoring control over our borders, rebuilding our defense in this increasingly dangerous world, standing by our allies,” Barr said on Fox Business’s Kudlow. “I trust President Trump to do that much more than President Biden.”

Trump has acknowledged Barr’s endorsement, joking that the former attorney general gave it even though Trump had once called him “Weak, Slow Moving, Lethargic, Gutless, and Lazy.” Trump added that because he appreciated Barr’s endorsement, he would remove “lethargic” from his statement.
