Biden’s Press Secretary On Illegal Immigration: ‘It’s Not Like Somebody Walks Over.’ Actually, Millions Do.

On Monday, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre laughed at the idea of unvaccinated illegal immigrants coming across the border and said, “It’s not like somebody walks over.”

The comment was illuminating for several reasons, chief among them that that is actually exactly how illegal immigration often works. Millions walk through America’s porous border each year under President Joe Biden’s watch.

In fact, a new report shows that Biden’s open border has officially entered unchartered territory as authorities captured 66 terrorists in the fiscal year 2022. According to one watchdog, nearly 4.9 million illegal aliens have entered the country since the 46th president took office in January 2021.

In mid-August, United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) released data showing that from October 2021 until July 2022, 66 illegal aliens on the terror watchlist snuck over the border. In the previous five years combined, only 30 individuals from the terror watchlist were apprehended.

CBP data also show that in the fiscal year 2022, authorities had more than 2,242,413 encounters with illegal aliens. Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) recently reported that nearly 4.9 million illegal aliens have crossed U.S. borders under Biden’s watch, “including some 900,000 ‘gotaways’ who eluded apprehension and have since disappeared into American communities.”

To put it in context, Dan Stein, the president of FAIR, compared it to the entire Emerald Isle immigrating to America.

“Roughly the equivalent of the entire population of Ireland has illegally entered the United States in the 18 months President Biden has been in office, with many being released into American communities,” Stein said in a press release.

Stein also noted that the Biden administration is wholly inept in dealing with the situation.

“In that time, the Biden administration has blamed an unprecedented surge of illegal immigration on all sorts of external factors, except their own sabotage of our nation’s immigration laws,” he claimed. “The endless flow of illegal aliens and the incursion of lethal narcotics pouring across our border will not end until this administration demonstrates a willingness to enforce our laws.”

It is not just the Biden administration blaming outside factors. CNN, a virtual mouthpiece for the administration, recently ran a story titled, “A ‘radical shift’ at the border is making things tougher for Biden.” Under Biden, illegal aliens are coming from around the globe in unprecedented numbers. Many of these individuals cannot be easily deported due to logistics or certain laws, CNN noted.

Of course, CNN barely mentioned the plethora of Trump-era illegal immigration protocols that Biden undid on his first day in office. As noted by Washington Examiner politics editor W. James Antle III, Biden campaigned on ending President Donald Trump’s supposedly inhumane border policies. He revoked Trump’s signature ‘Remain in Mexico’ policy and reinstated catch and release, allowing illegal immigrants to enter the country as they wait for asylum hearings.

This administration often discusses getting to the “root cause” of illegal immigration. Yet evidenced by Jean-Pierre’s ignorance of how illegals actually enter the country, it is more clear than ever that the Biden team doesn’t even understand the problem at all. Or worse, they don’t believe it’s a crisis.
