Biden Turns Pentagon Into an “Abortion Travel Agency”

Notification from Lloyd Austin, Secretary of Defense, October 20,22 “Ensuring Access to Reproductive Health Care,” The Department of Defense released three policies. “take a series of actions to ensure Service members and their families are able to access non-covered reproductive health care.”

These actions include policies that provide “Administrative absence For non-covered reproductive healthcare” andTravel allowances Non-covered reproductive health services. The Biden administration provides a taxpayer-funded workaround that allows service members and their families access to non-covered abortions in states where there are laws protecting the unborn. 

Although DoD cannot use tax dollars to pay abortion procedures, the new policies ensure that taxpayers can fund travel and time off for those procedures.

Republican lawmakers in both the House and Senate have warned that Secretary Austin’s administration and Vice President Biden are exceeding their authority and infringing on the spirit of the law that restricts the use of tax dollars to fund abortion.

Senator Tommy Tuberville (R.A.L.) lambasted Secretary Austin “following through with his radical plan to facilitate thousands of abortions a year with taxpayer dollars,” You can also add that he “will follow through with my plan to hold all Department of Defense (DoD) civilian, flag, and general officer nominations that come before the U.S. Senate.”

As I have stated, Secretary Austin should seek Congress approval if he wants to amend law. This is a severe misuse of taxpayer dollars — and I will hold him accountable. The American people desire a military that is focused on national defense and not on promoting a progressive political agenda.

Tuberville was a reminder of that “if Secretary Austin wants to change law, he should go through Congress,” These are the new DoD policy guidelines “an illegal expansion of DoD authority and a gross misuse of taxpayer dollars — and I will hold him accountable. The American people want a military focused on national defense, not facilitating a progressive political agenda,” Tuberville noted.

In the House, Rep. Mike Rogers (R-AL) — who serves as chairman of the House Armed Services Committee — said that the new policies mean “the Biden administration chose to make the Department of Defense an abortion travel agency over a lethal fighting force.”
