Principal deputy press secretary Olivia Dalton announced Biden’s trip to reporters on Friday while en route to an event with labor unions in Connecticut. During the aerial tour, the president will be accompanied by Governor Josh Shapiro (D-PA) and other local lawmakers. The White House has emphasized that Biden’s travel will not hinder the ongoing cleanup and recovery operations.

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg has also been actively involved in addressing the situation. Buttigieg highlighted the potential economic impact of the incident, stating, “Part of what goes into the cost of everything that we pay for at the store is the cost of shipment.
