The Biden administration released its budget proposal for 2022, which will provide a 16 percent boost to domestic spending. Some of the details released Friday showed the total at $1.5 trillion, which allocates $769 billion toward social services and so-called climate change.

The administration reportedly said these sectors were seriously underfunded. Defense spending in the budget was increased by over $12 billion to around $753 billion for both overseas and U.S. operations.

Biden’s cabinet secretaries are set to appear on Capitol Hill next week to defend the budget request.
