Biden declares Ireland as ‘home,’ fumbles while boarding Air Force One to his real home.

President Biden’s Eventful Visit in Helsinki

During a press briefing wrapping up his visit in Helsinki, Finland, President Joe Biden made an amusing slip-up that caught everyone’s attention. As he boarded Air Force One to return to the United States, Biden stumbled, adding a touch of humor to his departure.

Biden had just concluded his meeting with Nordic leaders in Helsinki, following the NATO summit in Vilnius, Lithuania. Alongside Finnish President Sauli Niinistö, Biden delivered his remarks, but not without some difficulty.

As Niinistö watched, Biden stumbled over his words, saying, “The ministry of cola’s the daughter of Ireland — daughter of Ireland, you can tell that’s a Freudian slip, I’m thinking of home — the daughter of Iceland. And I want to say, I think we’ve had a very productive summit.”

After taking questions from two pre-selected reporters, Biden left the press conference without addressing any additional concerns.

However, the eventful moments did not end there. Just hours later, as Biden prepared to depart Europe for the United States, he encountered some difficulty navigating the stairs to Air Force One, despite using the shorter staircase.

While climbing the stairs, the president stumbled momentarily before regaining his balance and continuing at a slightly quicker pace.

It seems that Biden has been opting for the shorter stairs more frequently since his fall onstage at the Air Force Academy in Colorado. Members of the White House Press Corps noticed this change and questioned Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre about it.

Reporters inquired whether the increased use of the shorter stairs was due to Biden’s previous trips on the longer stairs or his recent fall in Colorado. However, Jean-Pierre deflected the question, stating that she did not have any specific decision process to share.
