Biden asserts efforts to halt fentanyl, sparks opinions
President Biden’s Efforts to Combat Fentanyl Criticized
President Joe Biden recently declared that he and his administration were taking extensive measures to address the influx of fentanyl into the United States. However, critics remain skeptical of his claims.
Biden’s statement followed his meeting with Chinese leader Xi Jinping, where they supposedly reached an agreement to halt the flow of fentanyl from China to the US.
“Deaths caused by fentanyl are a tragic American issue that demands global action. I am fully committed to combating this crisis by expanding prevention, harm reduction, treatment, and recovery efforts. Additionally, I will collaborate with our Chinese, Mexican, and Canadian partners to tackle this problem,” Biden stated.

However, comedian Roseanne Barr, a vocal critic of Biden, expressed her doubts about his sincerity. She suggested that if Biden truly wanted to prevent fentanyl from entering the country, he should address the issue of it crossing the porous southern border.
“Close the f***ing border then, dips***,” she bluntly stated.
Close the fucking border then, dipshit.

Caitlyn Jenner echoed Barr’s sentiment, emphasizing the need to close the border.

Monica Crowley suggested that Biden’s deference to Chinese dictator Xi Jinping, combined with the open border, contributed to the fentanyl problem.
“You just kissed the a** of Xi Jinping, who is sending the fentanyl across your wide open border to kill us. Sit TF down,” Crowley remarked.

Congressional candidate Joe Kent criticized Biden and other Democrats for discussing fentanyl while leaving the borders open. He argued that their actions did not align with their words, as over 100,000 Americans have lost their lives to fentanyl.
Biden & dems like Marie Perez will talk about fentanyl while deliberately leaving our borders wide open.
They don’t care that over 100k Americans have been killed by fentanyl if they did, they’d close the borders.
Records matter, not their hollow words & performative acts. https://t.co/243VRSkZSH

Podcaster Eric Matheny also criticized Biden, highlighting his recent meeting with the top fentanyl supplier in the country. Matheny accused Biden of rolling out the red carpet for Xi Jinping and failing to address the fentanyl crisis.
You had our top fentanyl supplier in our country last week, dumba**.
You rolled out the red carpet for him, flew Chinese flags, and even cleaned the shit and needles off the streets of San Francisco. https://t.co/gFKWZb52hB

What is President Biden’s approach to addressing the fentanyl crisis, and how does it differ from simply closing the border?

In response to the criticism, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki defended the administration’s efforts and reiterated the importance of international cooperation.
“President Biden is fully committed to addressing the fentanyl crisis, and he recognizes that it requires a comprehensive approach. While closing the border is an important component, it is not the sole solution. We are working closely with our allies and partners to disrupt the supply chain and dismantle the criminal networks involved in the production and distribution of fentanyl,” Psaki explained.
Psaki also emphasized the need for a balanced approach that includes prevention, treatment, and recovery efforts within the United States.
“We cannot solely focus on stopping the entry of fentanyl without also addressing the demand and root causes of addiction. President Biden’s approach acknowledges the need for both supply reduction and demand reduction strategies,” Psaki added.
Despite the ongoing debate and criticism, it is clear that President Biden’s efforts to combat the fentanyl crisis are multifaceted. By engaging with international partners, expanding prevention and treatment programs, and implementing a comprehensive approach, the administration aims to tackle the issue from various angles. However, the effectiveness and success of these efforts will depend on the ability to effectively disrupt the supply chain and address the root causes of addiction within the United States.
