This month marks the lowest point in President Joe Biden’s approval rating since he took office.
On Sunday, a three-day opinion poll closed, revealing that only 40% of respondents approved of Biden’s performance as president.
It is widely expected that former President Donald Trump, the leading candidate for the Republican nomination, will once again face Biden in November 2024.
According to the poll, the top three issues concerning the nation are immigration, crime, and the economy, all of which Trump and other Republicans have criticized Biden for.
19% of respondents stated that the economy was the most important issue, followed by immigration (11%), and then crime (10%).
Since August 2021, Biden’s public approval rating has consistently remained below 50%.
This month’s rating is close to his lowest points in mid-2022, which were at 36%.
Around 1,017 adults participated in the online Reuters/Ipsos poll. According to AllSides.com, a site that assesses media bias, Reuters was rated as center-left.

As President Joe Biden reaches the end of his first year in office, his approval rating has hit a new low. According to a recent opinion poll, only 40% of respondents approve of his performance as president, marking the lowest point in his approval rating since he took office.
The poll, conducted over three days, revealed that the top three issues of concern for the nation are immigration, crime, and the economy. These are the very issues that former President Donald Trump and other Republicans have criticized Biden for. 19% of respondents identified the economy as the most important issue, followed by immigration at 11% and crime at 10%.
This dip in approval rating comes as no surprise, as Biden’s approval rating has consistently remained below 50% since August 2021. In fact, his current rating is close to his lowest points in mid-2022, where it was at 36%. These numbers indicate a significant lack of public confidence in President Biden’s ability to address the concerns of the American people.
Looking ahead to the next presidential election in 2024, it is widely expected that former President Donald Trump, the leading candidate for the Republican nomination, will once again face Biden. This anticipation is fueled by the dissatisfaction expressed by the respondents in the opinion poll.
It is worth noting that the poll was conducted by Reuters/Ipsos, with approximately 1,017 adults participating online. AllSides.com, a website that assesses media bias, rates Reuters as center-left.
In these challenging times, it is crucial for leaders to take note of public opinion and address the concerns of the people they serve. President Biden will need to focus on improving his approval rating and gaining public support if he hopes to secure a successful second term in office. The American people are looking for effective leadership and solutions to address the pressing issues facing the nation.
