In honor of International Women’s Day, the Biden Administration presented a bioman with an award for bravery during Wednesday’s ceremony at The White House.
Alba Rueda is a man that identifies himself as a woman. received An International Women of Courage Award was presented alongside 10 other women by Secretary of State Antony Blinken, first lady Jill Biden. Rueda, Argentina’s Special Envoy on Sexual Orientation & Gender Identity is the first trans-identifying politician.

Rueda, who is transgender activist has long advocated woke policies for Argentina. The Transgender Labor Quota Act requires that 1 percent of the public sector jobs be filled with transgender workers.
Rueda was also the undersecretary of Argentina for diversity policy in the Ministry of Women, Gender and Diversity. She also founded Argentina Trans Women.
A diplomat also campaigned for the change in the National Women’s Conference’s title to The “Plurinational Conference of Women and Lesbian, Cross-Dresser, Transgender, Bisexual, Intersex and Non-Binary Persons.”
Rueda is hoping to be able to, according to State Department. “establish an LGBTQI+ foreign policy agenda and mainstream it into the various negotiation fora, including into multilateral fora and bilateral relations as well as represent the Global South.”
Meaza Mohammed from Ethiopia, a journalist based in Jordan, Hadel Abdel Aziz (a Jordanian human rights activist) and Bakhytzhan Togozhina, formerly renowned civil society activist, were among the other awardees. According to the State Department, “awardees will participate in an in-person International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) exchange to connect with American counterparts in cities across the United States and strengthen their global networks of women leaders.”
