President Biden’s Infrastructure Jobs Ad Highlights Wisconsin’s Resurgence

President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign has launched a captivating new ad titled “Pretty Awesome,” showcasing the revitalization⁢ of ⁣infrastructure jobs in Wisconsin. The ad features Kilah Engelke, a ⁣cement mason, who ‍attributes the resurgence of jobs in the state to the ‍Bipartisan Infrastructure Law championed by Biden.

The 30-second spot is being broadcasted‍ on television across Wisconsin’s major media markets⁣ and on national cable. The first ⁢national airing will⁢ be on ‍MSNBC’s Morning Joe on ‍Friday.‍ This ad is part of a $25 million advertising campaign ‍targeting battleground⁢ states‍ like Wisconsin,⁤ spanning 16 weeks.

“From Day One, President Biden has fought to build the economy from⁣ the bottom⁢ up and ⁤middle out by tackling ⁢inflation, bringing down costs, and working across the aisle to deliver good-paying jobs for people like Kilah ⁤by investing ⁢in America,” said Biden-Harris 2024 Campaign Manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez. “Our campaign is continuing to ‌make early and aggressive investments in ⁣key states to make sure voters hear directly from trusted voices about‍ how President Biden has delivered for them.”

The ad ⁢will⁢ be aired in Madison, Milwaukee, and Green Bay, Wisconsin. This development comes as Foxconn, a ‌Taiwan electronics manufacturer, recently announced the sale of a building in Green Bay and another property‌ in Eau Claire.

In 2017, Foxconn’s plans for‌ a manufacturing plant in Wisconsin, along with a‌ multi-billion dollar investment and thousands⁣ of jobs, were celebrated by Trump’s administration. However, by 2021, it became evident that Foxconn intended ‌to reduce its investment⁤ significantly. The planned $10 billion infusion was downsized to just $672 million, and instead of 13,000 ‍new jobs, only 1,454 would ‍be created. Additionally, ⁣the ambitious 20-million-square-foot manufacturing campus was scrapped. This would have been the largest investment in a new⁤ location by a foreign-based company.

In‍ the ad,⁣ Engelke enthusiastically states, “All ⁤the road builders‍ are insanely busy right now. If someone‍ comes in wanting or⁢ needing a job, we’ve got them. The infrastructure law that Joe Biden got passed is putting people back to work.” She highlights the visible ⁤impact of the infrastructure investments, emphasizing‍ the bridges, roadways, and the⁢ multitude of⁢ people employed. Engelke concludes, “That’s ⁢pretty ‌awesome to have a president like ⁣Joe Biden that’s fighting for good jobs. It’s huge.”

Following the release of ⁤Biden’s ad, Trump issued a statement ⁣criticizing the president’s handling of the economy. Trump highlighted the shutdown of the Keystone XL ‍pipeline, the impact ‌on American energy, ⁣regulatory burdens, tax hikes, and the immigration situation. He also mentioned the potential consequences of Biden’s Electric Vehicle‍ mandate on the ⁤U.S. auto industry.

In ‌a ‍July poll of Wisconsin voters, ⁤Trump and Biden were tied at 50%. Given the state’s‍ significance ⁤in the 2024 contest, having voted for Trump in 2016 and Biden in 2020 by narrow margins, it is expected to play ⁢a crucial role once again.
