Bernie Moreno highlights Trump support in Senate campaign ad.

EXCLUSIVE: Bernie Moreno’s Campaign Ad Highlights Support from Former President Trump

Ohio Senate candidate Bernie Moreno ‌has released a new campaign ad that showcases the praise he has received from former President Donald Trump.‍ The⁤ ad, set to air ‍statewide starting Tuesday, emphasizes Moreno’s endorsements from prominent conservatives ⁤like Sens. J.D.⁣ Vance ‌and⁣ Marco Rubio, Kari Lake, and Charlie Kirk. However, it‍ is Trump’s own voice-over and Moreno’s ⁤early endorsement of ‍his White⁤ House bid that⁢ bookend the ad, solidifying ‍his⁢ support from the former president.

“Conservatives across the country are backing Bernie,” states the ad, which was first shared with the Washington Examiner.‍ “It’s because they know Bernie as⁣ an outsider businessman who ⁤will never stop⁣ fighting to ⁤put America first.”

Moreno⁣ has gained significant endorsements within Trumpworld as he prepares to challenge Sen. Sherrod Brown in what is expected to be a highly competitive Senate race in 2024. However, before facing Brown, Moreno must navigate a tough Republican primary⁢ in a state that Trump won by ⁤8 points in ⁣2020.

The ad prominently features‍ Trump’s remark,‍ “We love Ohio and‌ we love Bernie Moreno.” While Trump ⁢has not officially endorsed ⁢in the race, ‍Moreno is considered a front-runner for that endorsement if‌ the former president decides to⁢ weigh‌ in.

Moreno’s main opponents in the GOP‌ primary are Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose and state Sen. Matt Dolan.⁣ LaRose is ⁢also vying for Trump’s⁣ endorsement, while Dolan has chosen ‌not to pursue it.

The Ohio Senate race is ‍one of ‍three⁢ races⁢ rated as a “toss-up” by the Cook ‌Political Report. Brown initially flipped⁢ the⁢ seat ‌blue in 2006,⁤ and⁤ he remains a rare example‍ of a Democrat holding statewide office‍ in Ohio.

With 34 Senate seats up ⁢for grabs in ⁤the 2024⁤ election cycle, Democrats must defend 23, compared to just 11 for ‍Republicans. This puts the‌ GOP in a strong position to flip crucial Senate seats that could potentially shift the balance of⁢ power in the ⁢upper chamber.

Currently, Democrats hold a slim⁢ 51-49 majority in ⁢the Senate,⁣ with Vice President Kamala Harris serving as a tiebreaker ‍vote if needed. As a result, Republicans only‌ need to flip one Senate ⁣seat to secure the majority if ⁣they win back the White ‌House⁢ in 2024. If they fail to regain the Oval Office, the party ‍will need to secure ‍two ‌additional Senate seats.
