Arizona Christian University blasted by LGBTQ activist in AZ elementary school board meeting

On February 23,rd, Arizona elementary school board member Tamillia Valenzuela blasted Arizona Christian University for teaching its students traditional Judeo-Christian values.

Valenzuela presented her case before the Washington Elementary Schools District at a meeting of the district council. She argued that ACU should refuse to renew the 11 year-long teacher hire contract. She stated that the renewal could have adverse effects on “herself and the other two board members who are a part of the LGBTQ community.”

Valenzuela claimed on camera, that she felt the other’s pain. “queer kids” Her district would be in danger if ACU graduates were used.

“[This contract with ACU] does not make me feel that I could not be safe in this school district,” The councilwoman agreed.

Sources confirmed that ACU and Washington Elementary School District have been in partnership for 11 years. They hosted students-teachers and practicums every year without incident. 

Valenzuela then quoted from the ACU website. “[ACU] holds to the view that marriage is between a biological man and a woman.” 

She stated that the council should “think hard and do a deep dive in who we’re about to partner with.”

The five-member governing body included President Nikkie Gmez-Whaley and Vice President Jenni Abbot-Bayardi, Kyle Clayton and Tamillia Valenzuela.

The board unanimously approved the motion at the end of the meeting. “stop the partnership because of the perceived threats the students’ biblical value system poses to LGBT students.”
