A man accused of stabbing two people in Arizona has been linked to crimes in multiple states, including a murder in New York.
26-year-old Raad Almansoori was arrested in Arizona on Sunday for brutally stabbing a female employee multiple times in the bathroom of a McDonald’s in Surprise on February 18th.
Authorities reveal that Almansoori is also responsible for stabbing a woman and attempting to carjack her in Phoenix the day before.
“We’re all safer with Almansoori off the streets,” declared Surprise Police Department Chief Benny Piña.
Chief Piña also disclosed that during their conversation with the suspect, Almansoori confessed to committing a homicide in New York before fleeing to Arizona, urging them to “Google the SoHo 54 hotel.”
Just days before his arrest, the NYPD accused Almansoori of bludgeoning a 38-year-old woman to death in a New York City hotel room on February 8th.
According to NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny, 38-year-old Denisse Oleas-Arancibia, who was working as an escort on the night of February 7th, had a dispute with Almansoori over the duration of his stay in the room.
Although he has not yet been arrested for the New York case, Chief Kenny stated that they have “probable cause” to pursue charges.
The New York Police are seeking an arrest warrant and extradition for Almansoori, but Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell intends to keep him in Arizona.
“I’ve instructed my extradition attorneys not to agree to that; we’re going to keep him here. These are mandatory prison sentences,” Mitchell asserted. “Considering the treatment of violent criminals by the Manhattan DA, Alvin Bragg, I believe it’s safer to keep him in custody here and prevent him from harming others.”
Alvin Bragg criticized Mitchell’s statement, accusing her of playing “political games.”
Authorities have revealed that Almansoori has also been arrested in Texas and Florida for kidnapping and sexual assault.
He is currently being held without bond.
