Washington Examiner columnist Joe Concha heralded the progress the United States has made in the Iran war amid reports that the U.S.’s “so-called allies” are not giving.
Concha said he would rate the war “a 10 out of 10” in terms of success since it started in late February. He added that it would be “an outrageous scenario” two years ago if Arab nations joined the U.S. in defeating Iran’s regime while various European countries do “almost nothing,” but noted this is “exactly what’s happening.”
“The UAE [United Arab Emirates] is especially a pleasant surprise,” Concha said Wednesday on Fox Business’s Varney & Co. “Their commitment in terms of getting the Strait of Hormuz reopened and going on the offensive, they’re going to lead the charge as far as Arab nations are concerned in making sure the free flow and unabated trip through that strait is done for not just for their own economic reasons, since they sit right on the strait, but for others as well.”
“And we’d love to see our NATO friends, if you want to call them friends, even at this point, step up here,” he added. “Because we may be the world’s superpower, but we can’t do everything alone and do all the lifting for everybody else.”
Concha also cited Secretary of State Marco Rubio‘s statement that the U.S. may consider withdrawing its troops in Europe, since National Atlantic Treaty Organization allies won’t allow the U.S. to use their bases. Concha said Rubio’s remarks got the attention of NATO, and “the bet” is that more NATO allies will join the U.S. in opening the Strait of Hormuz.

The UAE is reportedly privately pushing the U.S. to launch a ground invasion of Iran. The UAE unexpectedly bore the brunt of Iran’s retaliatory assault, as the country has been targeted by more than 2,300 missiles and drones from Iran — more than Israel, a direct belligerent.
While the U.S. has not yet deployed ground troops to Iran, former National Counterterrorism Director Joe Kent urged his followers on X to contact the White House and their lawmakers to oppose this. Kent said it is “critical” to pray for peace, but also that “we work toward peace.”
