AOC Lashes Out At Critics After Being Caught In Florida: ‘Republicans Are Mad They Can’t Date Me’

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) lashed out at critics on Friday after she was caught hanging out in Miami, Florida, as her city deals with a record-breaking number of daily coronavirus cases.

National Review reported that, according to photographs obtained by the publication, Ocasio-Cortez was “seated outside Doraku Sushi and Izakaya in Miami Beach Thursday afternoon, raising a cocktail in one hand and checking her phone in another.”

“If Republicans are mad they can’t date me they can just say that instead of projecting their sexual frustrations onto my boyfriend’s feet,” Ocasio-Cortez responded to one of the critics calling her out. “Ya creepy weirdos.”

“It’s starting to get old ignoring the very obvious, strange, and deranged sexual frustrations that underpin the Republican fixation on me, women,& LGBT+ people in general,” AOC continued. “These people clearly need therapy, won’t do it, and use politics as their outlet instead. It’s really weird.”

“New York smashed its single-day COVID case record for the second straight day Thursday, reporting at least 74,207 new positives as the omicron surge stretches hospitals further,” NBC New York reported. “Meanwhile, hospitalizations continue to climb.”

Ocasio-Cortez also lashed out at Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ campaign, which tweeted at her last night.

“Welcome to Florida, AOC!” DeSantis’ campaign said. “We hope you’re enjoying a taste of freedom here in the Sunshine State thanks to @RonDeSantisFL’s leadership.”

Ocasio-Cortez responded by suggesting without evidence that DeSantis had “been inexplicably missing for like 2 weeks,” before saying that she wanted to “help with local organizing” in Florida.

Hasn’t Gov. DeSantis been inexplicably missing for like 2 weeks?

If he’s around, I would be happy to say hello. His social media team seems to have been posting old photos for weeks.

In the meantime, perhaps I could help with local organizing. Folks are quite receptive here 🙂 https://t.co/LmmqT8eLDh

Ocasio-Cortez’s decision to hang out in the red state of Florida amid the historic number of coronavirus cases in the city that she represents comes after she repeatedly attacked Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) for flying to Cancun, Mexico, earlier this year as the state of Texas dealt with a storm crisis.

In one exchange with Cruz on Twitter, AOC responded to something that Cruz wrote by tweeting: “Ted, this is pretty rich coming from someone who fled their own home (and responsibilities) during an environmental crisis to cross the border and seek refuge in Mexico.”

“Maybe Mexico shouldn’t let YOU in the next time you try to run away from your job to sip umbrella drinks in Cancún,” she continued.

In another tweet, AOC said that she cared that “it appears Texas was just a layover stop for him between Cancun and Orlando to drop a pack of water into someone’s trunk and abandon his constituents again as they get slammed with $16,000 electrical bills.”

“I know Republicans’ idea of ‘disaster relief’ is flying to Cancun while the power’s still out, but unlike that approach I actually give a damn,” AOC claimed later in the year.
