Anna Paulina Luna will file a privileged motion to censure Schiff for his investigation.

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna to File Privileged Motion to Censure Rep. Adam Schiff

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) has made an exciting announcement, revealing her plans to file a privileged motion to censure Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) and refer him to the House Ethics Committee. This decision comes shortly after the House voted to table a measure to censure Schiff on Wednesday.

Luna emphasized the importance of her motion, stating that she wants to eliminate any confusion surrounding the issue. She also pointed out that some members of Congress did not accurately read the bill.

“See you next week Adam,” Luna wrote on social media.

Despite facing opposition, Luna remains determined to move forward with her privileged motion. In the previous vote, 20 House Republicans joined most Democrats in voting against her measure to censure Schiff. Two Republicans and five Democrats voted “present” on the measure.

The motion was ultimately tabled with a vote of 225-196, falling short of the required 218 majority votes needed to censure Schiff. The allegations against Schiff involve claims that he abused the trust of his constituents by promoting the idea that former President Donald Trump conspired with Russia to win the 2016 presidential race. Luna introduced the measure on Tuesday, building upon her previous efforts to remove Schiff from office entirely.

Following the vote, Schiff proudly described the failed attempt to censure him as “a badge of honor.” He took to social media to express his thoughts, stating, “MAGA Republicans are going after me because I dared to hold Donald Trump accountable. These efforts to intimidate me will not succeed. I will always defend our democracy.”

In tabling the motion, Schiff successfully avoids formal condemnation and a $16 million fine.

Earlier this month, Luna referred to Schiff as a “criminal” and accused him of lying when he claimed to have stumbled upon “more than circumstantial evidence” of collusion between Trump’s 2016 campaign and Russia. However, the report released by Special Counsel John Durham in May concluded that neither U.S. law enforcement nor the intelligence community possessed any actual evidence of collusion at the start of the Crossfire Hurricane investigation.
