Andy Ngo: Spoiled Children of Privilege Trying to Burn Atlanta Down
They are rebels against the system and fight to save a small piece of woodland.
Many of the terrorist suspects Children of pampered privilege from outside the state were arrested and charged with occupying government property, and the violent attack on downtown Atlanta on Saturday.

They used a large banner to conceal the rioters and grabbed large rocks from a bag to use them as projectiles.

Francis Carroll, 22, from Maine
Carroll was already released on bail after being arrested for domestic terrorist acts at the Atlanta autonomous area last month. He is the son a multimillionaire yacht-sailing family and hails originally from Kennebunkport in Maine, which was also home to George W. Bush.
Carroll, who lived in his parents’ mansion before going to Atlanta, was among six people arrested and charged with domestic terrorism, aggravated assault and other crimes on Dec. 13 following a string of property attacks around the area, a carjacking and assaults on officers. They were all saved by activists who raised funds via Twitter for their legal defense.
Madeleine “Henri” Feola (22), Spokane, Wash.
Feola is trans-nonbinary activist. She graduated from Oberlin College in 2022, where she studied archaeological studies with a special focus on decolonization. They’re from the wealthy Portland, Ore., suburb of Happy Valley before relocating to Spokane, Wash. Feola authored a February 2022 blog post on the American Scientist titled, “It’s Time to Stop Gatekeeping Medical Transition.”
Emily Kathryn Murphy (37), Gross Isle, Mich.
Murphy is a middle-class vegan activist who previously served as the at-large chair for the Chicago chapter of Al Gore’s “Climate Reality Project” Before being radicalized further into eco-ideology, organization. “I have been vegan five and a half years now, and, no matter how much explaining I do, my own family still doesn’t fully understand what being vegan means,” Murphy once complained in a blog posting for the group.
Ivan James Ferguson, 23, of Henderson, Nev.
Ferguson, a classically trained clarinetist, is 23 years old and has won numerous awards. He studied at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Ferguson performed regularly in classical concerts in California, Nevada and California before he became radicalized.
They’ve each been charged with felony domestic terrorism, felony interference with government property, felony first-degree arson, felony second-degree criminal damage, riot, unlawful assembly, willful obstruction of a law enforcement officer and pedestrian in roadway.
Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens made a shocking discovery at a press conference after the riot. “Some of them were found with explosives on them. You heard that correctly, explosives.”
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation, along with other law enforcement agencies, have tried numerous times to end the violence. But militants have regrouped, and continue to occupy the area. They also heeded the pleas for help from anarchist sites. “defend the Atlanta forest.” Police were given Molotov cocktails when they met them at the initial police raid of May 2022. GBI said that it also found gas masks, edged weapons and other items during the raid.
There were also more privileged protesters arrested in the past.
* Teresa Yue Shen, a Brooklyn woman arrested on Jan. 18 who graduated from Barnard College before working at Reuters and CNN, according to her LinkedIn. She was charged with domestic terroristic.
* Abigail Elizabeth Skapyak, of Minneapolis. Skapyak, a former Justice Department intern, graduated from American University. On May 17, she was arrested.
* Marianna Hoitt-Lange, a violinist who graduated from New York University. She was detained on May 17.
* Madeleine “Matthias” Gunther Kdat, a Philadelphia resident, is the daughter the former provost/dean of faculty at Lawrence University, Appleton, Wis. who was arrested on May 17th.
In November, rioters attempted setting a man on fire by driving into the area.
“It seemed to me like they were going to burn the truck with me in it,” Richard Porter said that Richard Porter was the one who reported on 11Alive News. His truck was set on fire, forcing Porter to flee to save his life. Two under-construction houses located next to the occupation were also destroyed in the early December. Six others were arrested in connection with another raid that occurred the same month. They were charged with domestic terroristic acts.
Serena Hertal of Sun Valley in Idaho was charged with domestic terrorist, aggravated assault, and criminal trespass. She graduated from Pitzer College. It is a private liberal arts college in Claremont (Calif.), where the annual costs are more than $82,000.
The weekend violence in Atlanta was not the only result of the shooting death. Far-left sympathizers all over the country organized solidarity direct actions and demanded retributive violence. “Scenes from the Atlanta Forest,” A collective representing the autonomous zone is called for “reciprocal violence” A Twitter post that was heavily shared was against police
The trans child of Democratic House Minority whip Katherine Clark (D.Mass.) was arrested in solidarity with the Atlanta occupation. He was accused of vandalism, assault and battery on an officer. Jared “Riley” Dowell, aged 23, was charged for assault with a dangerous weapons, destruction or injury to personal property, and property damage by graffiti.
Militants attacked a Lansing bank and stole the writing. “Stop cop city.” Six were arrested. A Portland UPS center was also purportedly set on fire, with a claim of responsibility posted online saying it was retribution over their comrade’s death.
“We call for more actions directly toward the companies that are donating to and funding the Cop City project in Atlanta. Forest defenders have a right to stay in the forest, and groups will continue to retaliate until the Cop City Project is canceled,” Read the anonymous statement.
